Colour me happy!

Flowers always cheer me up! and boy' have I needed cheering up I could see myself heading for a melt down last week~ I think everything had finally hit me and emotionally I just broke down.
While Sweet pea had her weekend with her Father I headed by train to Cornwall to see my Mother for some well needed love and comfort at her home. She took me out on Saturday night with a Cornish Morris side called 'Catseyes'~ lots of dancing around apple tree's to wake the spirits up and hopefully bring a good crop for next year. We ended up in some lovely local's converted railway station house~ it was stunning! ~Drinking Apple cider and in their gardens they had been converting railway carriages into holiday lets...It was pouring with rain and my camera  does not take good pictures in the dark , so I have nothing to show you of that magical night!.
But if you can imagine lanterns, folk singing, folk dancing and musicians with violins, bells and guitars making a heavenly sound towards a beautiful fairy lit Apple Orchard then you can visualise the beauty of it all.
We all ended up down the local lovely pub...I really needed a good night with lovely, good spirited folk.

I came Home on Sunday feeling like a new person...feeling like i can take on the world and be positive about the future once more...

Its been pouring with rain for what seems like months and months in Devon, but something beautiful happened this afternoon the Sun showed her pretty face!~Oh' it was much needed!,

Thank you so much for all your kind emails and messages~ It really cheered me up to read them and to know there are some lovely folk in the world,

best wishes,

x Kazzy x

  10. I am really glad to hear that you are feeling much brighter, Kazzy. Nothing better than some "mum time", isn't it? I don't have my mum anymore but mum in law ticks that box almost the same. :)
Your evening may don't have pictures to show us how lovely it was, but you can conjure the idea just as lovely. :)

  21. Oh my you lucky thing you! I love a good old 'Wassail' before we moved down south last year we attended our friends Wassail and it was pretty much the same as yours well Minus the Morris dancers :( They call it their 'Winter Warmer' and it certainly does just that, it reminds end refreshes and more importantly the Wassail.

We have just planted 5 apple trees and I thought about having our own Wassail this year but don't no anyone down here yet but next year I am going to throw it.

I absolutely love your description and I hope you don't mind but I would like to write it in my inspiration journal as it conjures up so many ideas for painting. It probably describes my perfect evening, except I would have to be wearing fairy wings and dancing around without a care in the world.

It sounds like just the weekend you needed and I am thrilled to hear that you are feeling refreshed and ready to start 2013 with a fighting spirit. You and your blog are a real inspiration to many of us and we cant wait to read about your adventures xxx

  27. Mums are the best aren't they :) I am having a 'black' time at the moment and my Mum is at the end of the phone or just a short cycle ride away whenever I need her :)

Hope you feel better soon - if you're like me, a burst of sunshine and some spring flowers certainly help a bit :)

  34. I've just found your blog and am really enjoying looking through your posts. It sounds like you have had every right to feel a little down lately but your mum sounds like a blessing. My mum gave me a card some time back and on it says ' A daughter is just a little girl who grows up to be a friend'. I love this sentiment and hope that the relationship I have with my daughters reflects this. I'm sure you will pass the same on to your daughter as you have received from your mum x

  35. Hugs to you, and I'm sure the sun will come, and this year will be better than last! Your time at your mum's sounded wonderful, and you deserve it . In my garden, there are some lovely little winter aconites showing their little starry heads, and green shoots are poking their heads out of the soil everywhere! Spring is definitely around the corner x
