From Spring like Sunshine and warmth to below freezing temps and so bitterly cold.
But we braved it on the little ferry boat that was bashed about by the high waves and sailed towards the Cornish coastline on a 20 minute trip...To see the crashing waves and watch the sea was just wonderful despite being so bitterly cold and windswept. To be honest we didn't spend too long on the pebbled shoreline and headed towards the National Trust gardens which were a little more protected from the wind!...Early flowering buds blew across the gardens...
I am a Sea girl me, I was meant to be where I can see and hear the sea~ Those crashing waves feel like home to me...sure cheers my soul being by the coast.
Its been a really good half term~ we've managed to fit a lot in despite 'me' having to do a lot of job searching, emailing and paperwork...But on a budget this week we managed to do some really fun things.
I was speaking to Mummy friend who is married and they drive and her partner had a whole week off and she was moaning to me how there wasn't anything to keep her kids entertained & they've been sooo bored?!...I said we live on the most beautiful coastline and any kid should love the beach and waves even on a stormy day...her reply 'oh' its been far to cold for that'...I almost laughed!. Though, I think she thinks I'm mad taking my girl out in the cold.
But fresh air and walks does me the world of good and that doesn't cost anything!.

p.s Thanks always for your lovely comments ~ I really appreciate them x

So true - fresh air never killed anyone my Nan used to say - You are lucky living so close to the beach - I envy you xxx
ReplyDeletePeople don't realise how lucky they are. So please you managed to have a lovely half term despite the job applications. I'm in the same boat at the moment so I share your pain. Good luck! x
ReplyDeleteI feel in my heart I should be near the sea but it wasn't meant to be - not just yet, anyway :) But I do so enjoy your posts about the sea and your girl. And I am like you - we go out in all weather and I am often amazed by the other people who protectively keep their children indoors all fall, winter and much of spring! Proud to say at this moment, on a frosty afternoon with small random snowflakes dancing around, my boy went outside all by himself and I just spied him joyfully pushing the wheelbarrow through the garden...:)
ReplyDeleteIt's right what they say "the best things in likfe are free"....This morning I saw a little fat robin sitting in the bush in my uncle's garden and it made my day xxxx
ReplyDeleteyou're very right...we saw two robins hopping across the court yard ivy it was lovely- robins are so friendly ;0)
DeleteLovely pictures; we visit the coast so much more in Winter, much better than crowded summer days!
ReplyDeleteNothing like a walk beside the sea to blow the cobwebs away Kazzy! We are lucky living by the sea ... just imagine, it's even colder where I live on the NW coast!
ReplyDeleteGad you and Sweet Pea have had a nice holiday
Love Claire xxx
How sad some people are..we never had much money when the children small but all ways took them out
ReplyDeleteWe took them to the nearest beach "really an estuary" or flew kites in the park, packed up picnics for woodland walks what ever the weather and they still talk about those simple treats now ..so yes you are right its lovely to be out in the air
Happy Days

You're so right, quality family time just spent together with a bit of fresh air, sure does lift you up!
ReplyDeleteIt's so silly when people think they have to spend lots of money or plan fancy outings with their children. We regularly take our three year old twins out for walks in the countryside, woods, to the seaside etc... they love it. They recite their favourite books and look for their favourite characters (usually the Gruffalo!). Pack a picnic and some imagination = happy day out :-)
ReplyDeleteYou've definitely got the right attitude there! The simplest, cheapest things CAN be the most fun - and the most memorable (whatever the temperature)!!!

How uplifting to see all that lovely fresh air and as you say all for nothing. I call that a cheap day out.....xx
ReplyDeleteYour images of Sweet pea's half term are simply beautiful. You don't need money to enjoy the beauty of nature. It must have been bracing by the sea, good way of clearing the cobwebs away!

Gorgeous pictures. I share your love of the sea and enjoyed some very cold walks along the south coast this week. In fact, I think I like the beach best on a really cold day. x
ReplyDeleteYour post brightened my day....Happy weekend, wish I was by the sea, Heidi
ReplyDeleteThese photos are gorgeous and I love to be at the coast any day of the year!
ReplyDeleteHow mad is that 'it's too cold!' I think it was the mummy feeling the cold rather then the kids as I know from experience they really don't give a jot what the weather is doing.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous coastal pictures - and I agree, a most beautiful stretch of coastline.

As children we were always taught to look up and down as well as straight ahead, and we were always being taken out for walks. It is something I continued when my children were small, and when I looked after other people's children. It's amazing how many of them only ever went somewhere in the car when beauty could be found literally within walking distance of their own homes. Philippa xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky little girl your daughter is to have a mum like you who loves to take her out to these wonderful places by the sea! I'm so glad to hear you've had a lovely half term Kazzi!xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of your wonderful coastline, Kazzy. I could almost hear the sound of the waves and smell the salt air! I think it's great that you and Sweetpea get wrapped up and go out and enjoy the seaside whatever the weather! Have a wonderful week!

Hi kazzy ,thankyou for popping by my blog , i completely agree ,me and my 5 brothers and sisters were brought up doing very simple things together , my late mum always encouraged us all to have a long walk after lunch , plenty of fresh air encouraged good health , a good appetite and a good nights sleep xx
ReplyDeleteHello lovely. I haven't been blogging much lately but have just been looking at your gorgeous posts and pictures. Instagram has really taken over blogging for me but I'm hoping ill be back to it soon. I'm also going to start a new blog incorporating a new business, makes and home life. Xx
ReplyDeleteI find it so lovely how your little girl loves being outside and exploring. Isn't that what being a child is all about. Children don't know how to be children anymore, they are too busy sat in front of a TV or games console.
ReplyDeleteI know when I have kids of my own I'll be doing exactly what your doing :) x x x x
